Police Department Awarded State Certification on Standards

Congratulations to Chief John Minock and all the officers and dispatchers of our North Canton Police Department for attaining the new state standards certification and awarded the Law Enforcement Agency Certification from the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board.

Ohio Governor John Kasich established the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board to oversee implementation of recommendations from the Ohio Task Force on Community-Police Relations. The Ohio Collaborative is a 12-person panel of law enforcement experts and community leaders throughout the state. In August 2015, for the first time in Ohio’s history, it established state standards for use of force including use of deadly force and agency employee recruitment and hiring that can help guide law enforcement agencies in Ohio.
