Gas Aggregation

UPDATE: 09/29/2017 – A new price has been struck with our supplier Volunteer Energy for those residents in our gas aggregation program. The old rate was $3.45 per Mcf and the new rate starting in the December billing cycle and running until November 2018 will be $3.299 per Mcf.  A brief rate-change postcard will go to residents who are currently participating in the program explaining the new rate.  They will not have to take any action to remain in the program.

A more detailed opt-out letter will go to newly eligible residents (anyone who has not yet chosen a supplier).  These people will be automatically included in the program unless they take themselves out.

Any resident with questions or seeking to opt out of the program needs to call Volunteer Energy at 1-800-977-8374. It may take a few days for Volunteer Energy to update their web site link information, but city government is aware that many residents are making gas decisions and wanted to advise of the city’s new price as soon as possible to help residents make an informed decision.

Update: 10/6/2017

Residents who are currently in the program or who receive their gas supply through Dominion Energy Ohio’s Standard Choice Offer will receive an “opt-out” letter.  If they wish to remain in, or be added to the program, they should simply do nothing and they will automatically receive the new rate.”

Residents who are being served by another supplier may join the City’s program by calling Volunteer at 800-977-8374. Residents served by other suppliers are encouraged to review the terms and conditions of their current supplier agreement before enrolling.”  Customers wishing to join the program must be in good standing with their bill payment and cannot be part of the utility’s Percentage of Income Payment Program (PIPP).

The City is pleased to have made this program possible but asks that you do not call the City offices.  They are not equipped to handle a large volume of calls.  Residents should contact Volunteer toll free at 1-800-977-8374 if they have any questions or click on the Volunteer Energy web site link below:
