About the Department

The North Canton Fire / EMS Department proudly provides exceptional fire protection, rescue, and emergency medical response services to our community in the most cost effective way possible. As firefighters and EMS personnel, we are committed to protecting the quality of life and the safety of our citizens and visitors by quickly responding to fire, rescue, medical, and environmental incidents, and by providing first-rate public fire education and fire-safety inspections. Planning for emergency response and comprehensive training are also an important part of our department’s efforts to save lives and protect property.

Facilities

Station 1

Station 1 is located at 300 North Main Street. It houses the Administration Offices, Fire Prevention Bureau Offices, 3 Engines, 1  105' Ladder, 1 Rescue, and 2 ambulances. Station 1 is manned Monday through Friday, by full-time staff of a Chief, a Battalion Chief, and 3 Fire Prevention Bureau Inspectors.

There are “on-call” personnel who respond from home or activities, to assist the on-duty crew in the event of a large incident or when multiple calls occur simultaneously.  These personnel respond to Station 1 and respond to the emergency in fire or EMS apparatus.  Monday through Friday.

Station 2

Two Advanced Life Support Ambulances, a fire engine, and a chase vehicle are presently housed at Station 2, located at 345 7th Street NE.

Station 2 is staffed 24 hours a day and responds to EMS and Fire calls with a staff of 14 full-time firefighter/paramedics, 5 part-time firefighter/paramedics, and 8 part-time firefighter/EMTs.

The North Canton Fire Department has a Rescue Task Force team of EMS personnel to assist police with potentially hazardous situations.
