New Online Citizen Services Portal

Beginning January 1, 2024, the City of North Canton will be launching a new online portal to apply for and receive building and zoning permits hosted by OpenGov.

Beginning January 1, 2024, the City of North Canton will be launching a new online portal to apply for and receive building and zoning permits hosted by OpenGov. The new portal will allow contractors and homeowners to apply and pay for permits, receive permits, and schedule inspections, online all without needing to call or visit the City Hall.

The portal will use an email account to track and manage all of your permits with the City as they move through review, approval, and inspections.

The portal can be accessed at the link below. Some services are already live such as road closure and right-of-way permits.

The City of North Canton recognizes that historically applying for permits with the City has been difficult and time-consuming and is taking steps to address those issues. This new portal will save both the contractor and the City time by allowing communication between contractors and the department and automating some of our internal processes.

Permits can still be applied for in person at North Canton City Hall but an email will be required to make an account for the applicant if the applicant does not already have an account.

Optional Training

In an effort to help contractors and residents adjust to the new online system, North Canton will be hosting three public training events to preview the software, see a demonstration, and ask questions. All training will be held at the North Canton Civic Center at 845 W Maple St. North Canton, OH 44720.
